This is a very special concert: Joe Zawinul revisiting his first instrument, the accordion he used to play - and prepare- during his childhood in Austria. In this concert he meets two true masters of the accordion: Lelo Nika from Serbia and his fellow Asutrian Otto Lechner.
The Zawinul Syndicate visited the North Sea Jazz Festival earlier the same year. I´ve got only one track of this concert, so I post it as a "bonus track". It´s "Borges Buenos Aires", feat. There´s a lot of Weather Report in this edition of the Syndicate: The former Weather Reporters Badrena and Bailey, their renditions of Madagascar and Badia and Victor Bailey´s tribute to Jaco in his version of the Pastorius tune "Continuum" ("Do You Know").
