Jazz pianist and organist Craig Taborn began working professionally in the 1990s in a variety of musical contexts, ranging from more straight-ahead jazz to more outside music, with young jazz musicians, seasoned veterans, and even techno artists. In his hometown of Minneapolis, Taborn studied piano, composition, and music theory with area university professors before going away to college. Before he graduated from college, Taborn had already performed on three recordings as a member of the James Carter Quartet. After graduating with a liberal arts degree from the University of Michigan in 1995, DIW released Taborn's first date as a leader, The Craig Taborn Trio, followed by "Light Made Lighter", released 2001 on Thirsty Ear.

Keyboarder Craig Taborn has worked with jazz musicians Chris Potter, Nate Smith, Wayne Krantz, Adam Rogers, Tim Berne, members of The Bad Plus and also was in the Susie Ibarra Trio. Besides that he leads his own Craig Taborn trio as well, his latest release is the 2004 album "Junk Magic" on Thirsty Ear Recordings.

Yaron Herman was born in Tel-Aviv on 1981-07-12. He started to learn the piano at 16 with Opher Brayer using a methodology based on philosophy, mathematics and psychology. Two years later, Yaron earned the prestigious Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music “Junior talent” prize. At the age of 19, Yaron moved to Boston, where he intended to attend the Berklee College of Music but rapidly preferred to start his career in Paris, France. In 2007 he released his first trio recording called "a time for everything", his latest outing is a hommage to Dizzy Gillespie called "Muse".
