After the success of their first collaboration "Van´s Joint", saxophonist Bill Evans,  arranger Michael Abene and the WDR Big Band rejoined for another project, consequently called "New Stuff". Again a great combination of catchy Evans originals with complex but very much listenable Abene arrangemnts, played by a very tight and creative Big Band propelled by the great rhythm section of Etienne M´Bappe and Wolfgang Haffner.

This is a very special concert: Joe Zawinul revisiting his first instrument, the accordion he used to play - and prepare- during his childhood in Austria. In this concert he meets two true masters of the accordion: Lelo Nika from Serbia and his fellow Asutrian Otto Lechner.
The Zawinul Syndicate visited the North Sea Jazz Festival earlier the same year. I´ve got only one track of this concert, so I post it as a "bonus track". It´s "Borges Buenos Aires", feat. Joe Zawinul, keyboards, Maria João, vocals, Amit Chatterjee, guitar, Etienne M´Bappe, bass, vocals, Nathaniel Townsley, drums & Manolo Badrena, percussion.
